Why am I giving away professional training secrets?

See, that's a trick question. Actually, there are no secrets. The basis for dog training is public knowledge. The information, scientific and anecdotal, regarding how a dog learns, is available to anyone willing to do the research. What the novice trainer can't readily duplicate is the experience and insight that comes with a lifetime of working with all kinds of dogs.

For twenty-five years I have been fortunate enough to make my living as a professional trainer. I have thoroughly enjoyed the dogs and the people I have met and worked with. Some of them have become very close friends. This is my humble attempt to give something back to the community that has given so much to me.

So, make yourself a coffee, pull up a chair, have a look around. You might find something useful. You might find something interesting, or even entertaining. I hope so!

Finally, all advice and observations contained in this site are solely my own opinions, not necessarily held by anyone else, in any other place, at any other time. If you have different opinions, that's what makes the world go around. Visit the forum and input your own methods or experiences. Maybe the rest of us can learn something from you.

Good luck with your training.... Neil
