One of the best things you can do for your dog is a daily "hands-on" examination. It takes only a minute or two to run your hands over your dog, feeling for lumps, bumps, cuts and scrapes. Check the feet and pads and between the toes.
A quick "hands-on" will often find things such as ticks, cysts, abscesses, etc., that might otherwise go unnoticed, allowing for early treatment and less stress for your dog.
It's a good idea to get in the habit of doing a daily "hands-on" as part of your grooming routine, or, just as a pleasant petting session with your dog.
Good luck with your training!
